2020.11.14 Alaskan Wood Frogs Stop Heart at Night

I am watching a documentary about animal behavior at night and I was just introduced to the African wood frog. On winter nights, they almost freeze to death. Their hearts stop, their blood stops flowing, and their glucose levels increase so the freezing doesn't cause frostbite damage them. They can stay in this state of almost-death for up to 7 months!
